An outgoing email account can be used by MadgeTech 4 and MadgeTech 4 Secure to send email and text message alerts for alarms and workflows. MadgeTech 4 Secure also requires access to an email account in the creation of new users and to allow users and administrators to reset passwords.
To use a Gmail account to send outgoing emails from MadgeTech 4, the Gmail account must be configured to use Two-Factor Authentication, and an “App Password” must be generated in the Gmail account to be used in the MadgeTech 4 email settings.
