Software Engineer

Position Summary
The Software Engineer will apply the principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of web-based software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintenance and debugging of code in existing products.
  • Co-operative development, documentation, and selection of new product architecture.
  • Work with the team to define and design new product features, both major and minor.
  • Investigate, design and prototype solutions to confirm scalability requirements can be met.
  • Plan, organize, and help direct Engineering projects including maintenance releases.
  • Work with Stakeholders to identify and define new features.
  • Work closely with Sales and Support to support critical installations on-site.
  • Collaborate with Engineering staff, Support and Sales to investigate and resolve customer issues.
  • Update and review design and user-facing documentation for software products.
  • Work in a small team environment using Agile and similar collaborative tools.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • BS or higher in CS, SWE, EE with 5 years’ work experience or non-degreed with 7 years’ experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with C#, ASP.NET, HTML5/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery.
  • 5+ years of experience with Visual Studio.
  • Expert level understanding of SQL and development using common database providers.
  • Experience working with common source control tools.
  • History working with and protecting the confidentiality of critical customer data.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience with the following technologies is a plus:
  • EF6
  • AWS
  • Linux/mono

Technical Marketing Specialist

Position Summary
The Technical Marketing Specialist will research, write, publish, and distribute accurate, technical documents including product specification sheets, product user guides, manuals, website specifications, workbooks, internal reports and reference guides for MadgeTech products and services. The ideal candidate will display strong technical, organizational and communication skills while balancing multiple projects and deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct market research on competitive products, methods and services.
  • Identify gaps in content, product offerings and targeted industries.
  • Create and edit technical deliverables in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Develop, gather, and disseminate technical information from multiple sources, internal and external.
  • Ensure consistency throughout all published technical information across all platforms.
  • Monitor industry trends and user feedback and implement improvements.
  • Research, propose and implement customer-specific documentation, product and service solutions.
  • Display consistent and advanced time-management ability.
  • Manage multiple projects with revolving deadlines.
  • Work closely with Marketing team to ensure consistency in tone and brand representation.
  • Review and proofread documents for accuracy.
  • Maintain a record of all corrections and revisions to documentation.
  • Meet all related release and documentation deadlines .
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Bachelor’s degree or proven related experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience developing technical product and/or software information.
  • Ability to comprehend, assimilate and technical documentation independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Working Knowledge of Adobe Suite, Specifically InDesign.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to edit, proofread and implement in-line changes.
  • Advanced understanding of technical writing conventions.
  • Ability to comprehend and clearly communicate complex technical data.
  • Highly motivated, independent individual.

Repair Technician

Position Summary
The Repair Technician applies advanced electronics knowledge and skills to assess product no longer functioning properly or damaged during use to determine the root cause and best solution for the customer. This position is responsible for noticing trends in defects and working with engineering to resolve design concerns. The repair technician’s diagnosis contributes to accurate warranty reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Evaluation and repair of returned product with an emphasis on detailed review of electrical circuitry
  • Writing detailed analysis of product evaluation and determination of root cause
  • Providing recommendations for avoiding repeat failures
  • Using established system to acknowledge completion of jobs
  • The Repair Technician will replace parts as needed. This may require use of soldering iron and/or hot air pencil
  • Perform the work in a timely manner, to meet customer on time delivery expectations
  • Perform other tasks such as, training assistance, as requested by supervision / management; be willing to work overtime as necessary and authorized
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Associates degree in an Engineering related technology or equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered
  • The Repair Technician should be able to work well in a fast-paced environment. The ability to respond to changing priorities are important in this role
  • The Repair Technician should have proficiency in standard Microsoft Office Applications and the ability to learn new software packages and tools quickly
  • Knowledge of low voltage, battery powered, microprocessor-based circuits helpful
  • The ability to grasp product designs, schematics, and part location drawings quickly
  • Excellent oral and written communication
