Farewell 2020: A Year in Review

Posted on

That’s a wrap! Another year in the books, and what a year it was. Although it was an unpredictable one, it’s these struggles that prepare us for growth. To help better serves our customers, MadgeTech adapted to the changing times, releasing several new monitoring solutions to help simplify critical applications.

New Products
MadgeTech kicked off 2020 with the release of the LCS140, the only wet-bulb, dry-bulb monitoring system on the market. Designed specifically for meat processors, the LCS140 makes calculating relative humidity as easy as the click of a button.

Consisting of 36 data loggers, and growing, MadgeTech launched the X-Series. The X-Series offers data loggers that monitor voltage, current and temperature through both RTD probes as well as thermocouples. Each data logger is available with either 4, 8, 12, or 16 channels.

To simplify validating pasteurization processes, MadgeTech added the MicroTemp100 to its lineup of miniature data loggers, specifically to withstand the demanding conditions of batch and continuous flow pasteurization.

The strict storage requirements surrounding the new COVID-19 vaccines was the driving force behind the VFC2000 vaccine monitoring system. Capable of measuring and recording temperatures as low as -100 °C, the VFC2000 ensures vaccine safety throughout distribution and storage operations.

MadgeTech also introduced the latest extension of the Titan S8 data acquisition system, the Titan S8-CAN. The Titan S8-CAN provides the capability to monitor and record diesel engines that use SAE J1939 CAN communication protocol.

To wrap up the busy year, MadgeTech combined two great products, the PRTemp1000 and the PRTrans1000, into one with the new PR1000 temperature and pressure data logger.

Calibration Services
This year, MadgeTech expanded its scope of accreditation this year to include thermocouple calibrations. The ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation applies MadgeTech thermocouple-based temperature data loggers. Accredited thermocouple calibrations are the latest to join MadgeTech’s scope which also includes RTD, humidity, and pressure.

Company Developments
In June, MadgeTech broke ground on a new 9,600 square foot facility. The new addition will provide more manufacturing space and expand office space as the company continues to grow. Stay tuned for updates, with construction set to be complete in Spring 2021!

The expansion project will also make room for the continuing development of MadgeTech’s probe department. In 2020, MadgeTech wanted more control over quality, and started producing select thermocouples, RTD, and thermistors probes in-house.

Although 2020 has been a trying year, we are fortunate to be able to continue bringing new, innovative products to market. 2020 was one to remember, and we are confident 2021 will continue to bring exciting new opportunities.
