MadgeTech, Making a Difference

Posted on

Established in 1996, MadgeTech has been a hidden gem in the Warner, New Hampshire, silently supporting the community. Now, 21 years later, MadgeTech is celebrating its continued success in the town where is all began and in more than 100 countries around the world. However, not many people are aware of how MadgeTech data loggers help protect consumers from the dangers of everyday products.

MadgeTech takes pride in the fact that every data logger is designed, assembled and distributed under one roof, by the more than 60 employees from all over the state. These environmental monitoring systems are known worldwide for ensuring safety, quality and efficiency. From helping the space program to saving endangered species, MadgeTech data loggers are crucial for managing the world’s top industries and can be found in hospitals, food processing plants and on construction sites.

Attention to quality and customer service is the driving force behind the MadgeTech evolving into a renowned data logger supplier, putting New Hampshire on the map in many foreign countries. President and founder, Norm Carlson, grew up in the Town of Warner, graduating from Kearsarge Regional High School. From there, he went on to study physics and electrical engineering at Geneva College, before returning to his roots. Carlson worked at local companies, but found himself looking for more than the typical 9-5. Instead, he put his heart, soul and long work days into building monitoring device from scratch.

“They were just cool and it was fun to play with different technologies,” states Carlson.

It wasn’t until 1996, when Carlson took a risk to turn his engineering tinkering into a full-fledged business. From that day forward, MadgeTech has seen steady growth and the need soon arose for some helping hands, hiring his first employee.

Despite the continued growth and expansion, MadgeTech has never outgrown the original principles set forth by Carlson, which include giving back to the community. The MadgeTech name can be seen around town, sponsoring community dinners, family events, even marching in the town’s annual Fall Foliage Festival.

In addition to hosting community events, MadgeTech employs many talented, local individuals to form the team environment that makes the company what it is today. Carlson strongly believes personal growth of employees is the key to success. It’s safe to say that MadgeTech is one of the few privileged companies making a positive impact worldwide, while having the honor of calling New Hampshire home.
