Whether you love them, hate them or could care less about them, honey bees play an important role in our food supply. Back in 2006, the bee population mysteriously began dying off, putting honey production and billions of dollars' worth of pollinated food crops in jeopardy. According to a study released by Lincoln University, New Zealand agriculture alone could lose between $295 million to $728 million a year if the bee population continues to decline.
