MadgeTech 2:
If you have Windows 7 or Windows Vista, your user account control settings may prevent you from saving files in certain locations. For example, you may be restricted from saving files within the Program Files directory. However, Windows will mask this by allowing you to ‘Virtually’ save files in those locations, which makes the programs you save with think the file is there when in reality Windows has stored it somewhere else.

If you are able to save your datasets in the MadgeTech software, and open them from the same locations, but cannot find them when searching in Windows or in other programs, the files may be saved in Windows VirtualStore. You can find the VirtualStore by going to the following folder on your hard drive: C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME-HERE\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\MadgeTech X.XX. You should find everything you saved in the MadgeTech file directory here.

If it was saved in a folder other than the MadgeTech program folder, you would follow the same path but replace the “\Program Files (x86)\MadgeTech X.XX” with the path of the folder that you saved to.
