Human Resources/Payroll Manager

MadgeTech is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Human Resource/Payroll Manager to be directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource and payroll functions. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in the full scope of HR Management and prior payroll experience. This position will report to the President.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop and administer various human resources plan and procedures for company personnel
  • Plan organize and control activities in the department. Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to managers and employees with specific focus on: employee advocacy, conflict resolution, employee relations management, performance management, career development, acquisition and retention and workplace investigations as appropriate.
  • Manage all aspects of the recruiting process: creation of open requisition, gaining approvals, advertising, screening applicants, coordinating phone and in-person interviews, making offers, creating offer packets.
  • Provide insight and leadership to promote organization effectiveness, talent planning and development.
  • Must ensure compliance with all state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Process weekly payroll and keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws.
  • Manage and oversee benefit administration, planning and maintaining the company benefit program by studying and assessing benefit need and trends. Manage company 401k benefit plan.
  • Maintain and update company handbook.
  • Responsible for OSHA reporting.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Personnel and Human Resources - Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, benefits, negotiation, and HRIS system.
  • English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Human Resources Software - Software as a Service HRIS system. Ensure confidentiality and professionalism is maintained when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

MadgeTech, Inc., a leader in data logger technology, is seeking an individual with a “Can Do” attitude to work in a busy, challenging, team-oriented environment. A full-time position is available for a highly motivated sales representative, challenging, team-oriented environment. The sales representative will be responsible for mastering the function and features of both the hardware and software solutions offered by the company. The sales representative position will report to the Sales Manager.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Source sales opportunities through inbound leads, and outbound cold calls, and email.
  • Contact existing customers to discuss their regulatory compliance needs and explain the compliance tools offered by specific MadgeTech products and services.
  • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections, based on customers' needs, product specifications, and applicable regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs, and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
  • Ability to understand online marketing, MadgeTech products' value to our customers, as well as the competitive landscape.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
  • Negotiate prices and terms of sales and service agreements.
  • Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained and submit orders to customer service for processing.
  • Maintain customer records, using automated systems.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information.
  • Responsible for learning and mastering details regarding regulatory compliance and industry applications, which impact how the product is used.
  • Travel as needed.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent with 5 plus years’ experience.
  • Track record of meeting quota.
  • Strong phone presence and experience with managing multiple calls per day.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical product information in the sales environment.
  • Proven track record of successful telephone and in-person sales.
  • Good understanding of Internet technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Sales training or solution selling training a PLUS.
  • An upbeat, positive, “can do” attitude is a must.

Quality Inspector

A full-time position is available for a highly-motivated individual to work as a Quality Inspector that will maintain quality standards by approving incoming and outgoing products.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Approve incoming and outgoing products by confirming specifications.
  • Ability to follow specifications, work orders, and reports to determine material requirements and assembly instructions.
  • Approve in process production by confirming specifications; communicate required improvements to production supervisor.
  • Approve finished products and evaluate returned products for rework.
  • Report problems or issues to Production Manager.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area to facilitate production activities.
  • Liaise between the production and shipping department.
  • Analyze information.
  • Report and research results.
  • Promote process improvement.
  • Manage processes.
  • Inspect outgoing sales orders, RMA’s and calibration orders.
  • Inspect incoming parts.
  • Review the information submitted by customers on incoming RMA’s.
  • Perform in-process testing of sub-assemblies.
  • Document and maintain the results of the all inspections and testing.
  • Initiate the NCMR process for non-conforming parts.
  • Write SOP’s for the inspection process.
  • Maintain a master list of inspection requirements for outgoing orders.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

The Quality Inspector should be able to work well in a fast-paced environment. Multi-task with the ability to respond to changing priorities are important in this role.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
  • 2+ years’ experience working as a Quality Inspector preferred
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail

Shipping/Receiving Clerk

MadgeTech, Inc., a leader in data logger technology, is seeking an individual with a “Can Do” attitude to work in a busy, challenging, team-oriented environment. A full-time position is available for a highly motivated individual to work as a Shipping/Receiving Clerk. This role will be responsible for coordinating the activities in material handling, shipping, and storage. This position reports to the Production Manager.


Responsibilities of Shipping/Receiving

  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and conditions of shipments
  • International shipping AES filing & all applicable documents.
  • Determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Inspect incoming materials and notifying appropriate staff of potential quality issues
  • Ensure shipping area is organized and clean at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations and other company-related policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and solve customer problems and issues.
  • Prepare export documents as necessary and ensure compliance with international shipping, and freight forwarders.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory and shipping materials.
  • Track lost shipments.
  • Willing to work overtime when needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be familiar with MRP systems
  • Must be proficient in Shipping Carrier Portals (Fed Ex, DHL, UPS)
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel and Word
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
  • Ability to sort, check, count and verify numbers
  • Ability to receive, track, stock, supplies and equipment
  • Use basic measuring tools
  • Knowledge of postal and commercial shipping methods and procedures

Machine Shop Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate clearly and effectively; listen and get clarification; resolve conflict; treat people with dignity, respect, and fairness; build morale.
  • Maintain machine shop cleanliness, safety and organization.
  • Manage a shift schedule and staffing requirements.
  • Mentor and train both supervisors and production staff.
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage competing demands and tight deadlines.
  • Design/select tooling, workholding, and gages to support machining processes.
  • Program, setup and operate CNC machines using modern CAM software (InventorHSM); interpret, edit and program both G&M code and conversational programs (Hurco/Mazak).
  • Plan strategy and execute machining and inspection of parts to specification working from CAD files, mechanical drawings, sketches or verbal instructions.
  • Develop inspection drawings and work procedures for production staff using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor) and MS Office.
  • Calculate/estimate machine cycle times; determine cost effective operation sequences, machinability and feasibility.
