MadgeTech’s RFOT is the most advanced wireless temperature data logger in the meat industry today. The RFOT’s rugged design, equipped with a flexible piercing probe allows it to be used in the harshest environments. It is perfectly suited for smoke houses, ovens and other cooking processes up to 212°F (100°C) as well as refrigerators and freezers down to -4°F (-20°C). It is completely splash proof and can withstand wash down cycles. This state-of-the-art device records and transmits internal product temperature readings back to a central computer for instant real-time monitoring.

The RFOT never needs to be connected to a computer as it has been designed for two way wireless communication. Full communication can be performed directly from a central PC. In addition to wirelessly transmitting data, the RFOT also stores each reading to internal memory for backup. This backup data may be retrieved wirelessly at a later time.

MadgeTech’s easy to use software features user programmable critical control points, called “cooling flags” to assist in compliance with USDA Appendix B. The “cooling flags” are automatically annotated on the graph and tabular data views. The summary tab provides the cool down duration between each critical control point. The data can also be automatically exported to Excel® for further calculations.

As the leader in low power data logger technology, MadgeTech continuously improves its products and develops solutions to meet ever-changing challenges. The RFOT was designed with our customers in mind. MadgeTech offers free firmware upgrades for the life of the product so that data loggers already deployed in the field can grow with new technological developments. Units do not need to be returned to the factory for upgrades. The user can do this automatically from any PC.

The RFOT is available with a 4” rigid piercing probe or a 2.5” rigid piercing probe (for smaller meat products).

The RFOT is available with an Extended Warranty.

  1. The RFOT is durable Review by John Nichols

We've been using RFOT thermometers for 2 years now and have been please with their durability and MadgeTechs service. The thermometers we were using did not last long in the wet environment of a meat plant plus the data had to be manually downloaded. The RFOT thermometers do that automatically and the temperature readings can be viewed in real time. (Posted on 3/20/13)

  2. President Review by Glen Kusak

We have been using the RFOT Data Loggers for over a year and very pleased with the design and ease of setup. They allow us to record the cook and chill temperatures with the same devise and print on the same document. (Posted on 8/6/12)

  3. The RFOT Works Great for Meat Processing Review by Bobs Processing

We are in South Haven, Michigan have been in the business at Bob’s Processing for 31years this year.

We have been using the RFOT since the AAMP convention in July 2011. They have worked great for us. We use to use a paper chart recorder which worked well for finish temperature but not for cool down temperature. We have two RFOT, one for each house. All data is sent right to the computer. When every load is finished and cooled down we save the data to a file and have a record of each batch verses all the paper charts taking up room. We also use it to find the cold and hot spots in the smoke house by just hanging them different spots in the house just to check things out. Your customer support has been great especially for us that are not real good on computers. My inspectors really like it also. The price was very good also it was cheaper than putting on another recording graph which we needed plus now we can monitor the temp right through the whole schedule.
